When Mike first summoned Crying Man, Mike was initially freaked out, but over the course of Season 1, he began to see him as a friend. When he was forced by X to attack Mike, Crying Man showed genuine remorse at being forced to hurt his friend and urged Mike to escape. When Mike finally managed to retrieve Crying Man’s book, Crying Man was happy to be reunited with his friend and hugged him afterwards, with Mike telling him he missed him.
