Plot[]

When Mike buys a strange comic book titled "Crying Man," he discovers he has the ability to summon the Hero from the comic book into reality by saying the name of the hero out loud.

Synopsis[]

The episode opens on a man driving through the fog-filled streets listening to KBBX with Gunter and Wacky John as they speculate when the fog will clear. Suddenly a hero named Gravity falls into the front of the car causing it to swerve and crash. Gravity regains his footing when he is attacked from behind by The Great Finger using a Great Drop Kick, who proceeds to triple strike Gravity with a Belly Bomb, Sumo Strike, and Electric Elbow. The Great Finger than kicks Gravity into the air and prepares to use a Platinum Pile Driver, but just before impact Gravity uses his special ability; Zero Gravity, causing himself and The Great Finger (along with anything else in the force field) to float up before using Gyro Drop and repeating smashing his opponent into the street. The Great Finger manages to get the upper hand again and uses his Almighty Finger Flick to smash Gravity into the ground so hard it leaves a crater and clears the whole city of its morning fog.

A mysterious figure; "X" shows up and finds a glowing comic book on the ground and picks it up as it fades. She then welcomes Gravity to the team, holding his comic with Great Finger's.

At the Phantom Zone comic shop Mike comments that $40 is a lot of money and his friend Nick steps in "le haggle" unsuccessfully with the cashier, who sells Mike a copy of Crying Man for $40. Mike reads the comic as they leave and discovers Crying Man is a hero "who cries a lot" and has the power of tear cannon eyes. He is not paying attention when be bumps into Lucy and they both fall to the ground. Mike is confused when it begins snowing and Lucy quickly helps him stand while professing her love for him and spinning him around. Nick then snaps Mike out of his day dream where he and Lucy are still on the ground and she is not amused. Lucy says he should watch where he's going and Mike awkwardly makes a joke before she leaves. Nick is upset that Lucy Weller will now tell everyone at an upcoming party that they are weird because Mike daydreams a lot. Mike asks when the party is again and Nick comments that he thought Mike's mom won't let him go.

Mike's mom, Tara, proclaims that violence solves everything as she gets the stove to work and Mike comments that that's a terrible lesson. She responds that when reporting on such a crime-infested city one realizes it is full of terrible lessons. Mike then reminds her she mostly covers prize animal shows. Mike offers her a present (Dirty Potato's lost album "Drive-By Sunnyside") which she loves, then tells him how she went to the opening concert if their Madness Skull tour. "I'm the reason they started nailing chairs to the floor." She realizes it's a bribe and asks what he wants.

Mike is in the bathroom reading Crying Man when Nick texts him that they're going to the party in 30 minutes. As Mike reads the last lines of the comic out loud suddenly it glows blue and a string of blue light connects to his forehead, then Crying Man is pulled from the pages and falls into the bathroom. Mike is confused and asks who he is, which causes Crying Man to tear up and ask if he doesn't know who he is, then he asks where Scott is. Tara asks through the door if he is ok. Mike responds there is a weird spandex guy in the bathroom and she believes it is one of his stories again. Tara leaves before he can show her Crying Man, who starts sobbing as steam billows from his helmet and tears build. He is upset that Mike thinks his costume is weird. Mike is confused and backs away as water is pouring out of Crying Man's goggles, he tries to escape but is hit by Crying Man's water cannons which flood the bathroom.

Mike is soaking wet and sits on his bed with Crying Man who is using a handkerchief and asks who he is. Crying Man happily exclaims he's a superhero, but Mike is still confused as to how he came out of a comic book. Crying Man begins tearing up again, thinking Mike doesn't like is costume when he accidentally steps on an action figure and breaks it. He begins wailing and his tear cannons destroy Mike's room, and even have the power to propel both of them against opposite walls. Mike yells for him to return to the comic book and Crying Man does so. Mike is in shock when he gets a text from Nick saying he has 10 minutes.

Nick is outside waiting to go to Diego's party when Mike runs up to him, still soaking wet, and holding the comic. He tries to explain to Nick who doesn't believe him thinking it's just an excuse for running late. Mike tries to summon Crying Man again, but it doesn't work and Nick leaves him behind to go to the party. He realizes he needs to be holding the comic for it to work and Crying Man reappears. Mike tries to show Nick but he's crossing the street and is distracted by his headphones while there is a flower delivery truck speeding toward him. The same driver from the morning is distracted by a phone call when he sees Nick and cannot avoid him. Mike tries to get Nick's attention and Crying Man uses Tear Split and Flying Tears to send the truck flying over Nick. Crying Man then uses Sad Slide to help the truck and driver land safely. A crowd gathers as Mike explains to Nick, then Crying Man says he senses someone sad and "they need our help." Mike questions if he means all three of them and Nick asks why he's involved when Crying Man picks up both of them and runs off; using his water jets to propel them through the air and over buildings.
